U.S. News & World Report and Kyruus Team Up to Help Patients Book Doctor Appointments
Washington, D.C., October 19, 2015 – U.S. News & World Report, publisher of Best Hospitals, today announced new first-in-class physician search and scheduling capabilities for its Best Hospital and Doctor Finder sites through a collaboration with Kyruus. Patients researching care options on www.usnews.com will now have the ability to search for and book directly with physicians whose organizations operate the Kyruus ProviderMatch platform.
The new service is being rolled out to a group of leading health organizations, starting with Swedish Medical Center in Seattle this fall, and expanding to Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles and Hospital for Special Surgery in New York in 2016.
“For over 25 years, U.S. News has helped patients in search of reliable health care information find the best hospitals to treat their specific needs,” said Chad Smolinski, senior vice president of U.S. News. “Our collaboration with Kyruus allows us to offer patients a new tool that makes it easier for them to seamlessly find a physician and book an appointment.”
Leveraging proprietary clinical search and scheduling technology from Kyruus – a leader in Patient Access and Referral Management tools – and combining it with U.S. News & World Report’s popular hospital rankings, this new effort will empower patients by streamlining access to quality care. The program will allow patients on the Best Hospitals web site to search for the most relevant providers – using any combination of search terms such as conditions, symptoms, or procedures – from those hospitals that have partnered with Kyruus. Patients will then be able to request appointments.
“We’ve been fortunate to work with some of the leading healthcare systems around the country to ensure that patients are matched to the right provider within their network the first time,” noted Graham Gardner, chief executive officer at Kyruus. “We are very excited to partner with U.S. News & World Report to bring these solutions directly to consumers looking for the best care options.”
