TigerText Launches TigerConnect Secure Messaging Platform

Platform enables software developers to build and integrate secure messaging capabilities into any application via the TigerText SDK.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (March 3, 2015) – TigerText, a provider of secure, real-time messaging for the enterprise, today announced the launch of its TigerConnect platform-as-a-service (PaaS), which allows developers to seamlessly integrate secure messaging capabilities into any application for improved productivity and user engagement with minimal time and investment.

According to Gartner, investment in enterprise application software is expected to reach $575 billion by the end of 2018. Mobile messaging is a critical element of this growth; however many companies are challenged because building a secure messaging solution across multiple mobile platforms from scratch is time and resource intensive. Additionally, as hacking efforts continue to escalate, enterprises face formidable challenges when it comes to keeping their digital communications private and secure.

“Messaging is proving to be the killer application for user engagement in the enterprise,” said Itamar Kandel, chief strategy officer at TigerText. “By providing a simple, reliable and scalable secure messaging SDK, we want to drive real utility for developers with their customers and users. Given our scale and leadership position in the secure messaging space, we felt it made perfect sense to offer our robust messaging capabilities to outside developers for their own applications. Secure messaging should be at the foundation of every enterprise application strategy. With TigerConnect, we’re making it easy for developers to integrate and send a secure message via TigerConnect in under five minutes.”

Building on the TigerConnect platform, enterprises can maintain full control over the user interface and customer experience, while enabling users to send secure text, voice and video messages, and also share files across different applications. For TigerConnect developers, it offers a scalable infrastructure, with step-by-step documentation and cross-platform APIs and SDKs. To provide the widest range of connectivity, developers can leverage HTTP, SMTP and WCTP protocols.

TigerConnect is applicable for highly regulated industries such as financial services, legal and government agencies, where secure communications are critical. Several organizations have already integrated TigerConnect, including widely used EHR platform PointClickCare which services over 8,000 facilities in the U.S., scheduling service provider AMiON, and anonymous social and secret-sharing app, Whisper.

“As our customers regularly share Personal Health Information amongst team members, both within and across senior care settings, they needed an easy way to engage in conversations that were compliant with health information management regulations,” said Terri Weckle, Senior Vice President of Strategic Products at PointClickCare. “We chose to leverage the TigerConnect platform to quickly and easily integrate secure mobile messaging capabilities into our existing EHR platform. For customers using this secure messaging capability, the upside offers tremendous value – secure, compliant conversations.”

TigerText is heavily investing in its PaaS solution and recently hired a new Chief Strategy Officer, Itamar Kandel, and opened a new office in Palo Alto to support its platform efforts. Kandel has been tasked with bringing the TigerConnect API to the developer community and building strategic partnerships on top of its platform. Kandel brings 15 years of experience in messaging, security and payments, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Voxer, the push-to-talk smartphone application. Previously, he worked in healthcare product management at Veritas, all the way through its subsequent merger with Symantec.

This announcement follows a year of strong growth for TigerText. The company recently announced it has achieved its fourth consecutive year of triple-digit revenue growth. Additionally, TigerText is now being used by 38 percent of Fortune 500 companies and is on track to send over 10 billion messages this year across its platform.
