OHSU to Become First Health System in Oregon to Implement Kyruus ProviderMatch®
Oregon’s Only Academic Health Center Enhances Online Offerings for Patients with Kyruus Provider Data Management and Search Solutions
Boston, MA – July 30, 2019 – Kyruus, the leader in provider search and scheduling solutions for health systems, today announced that OHSU in Portland, Oregon, a nationally distinguished research organization, will utilize the Kyruus ProviderMatch® platform to enhance patient access to providers and services across the OHSU health system.
OHSU is building a comprehensive provider directory with KyruusOne®, Kyruus’ robust provider data management platform. The platform will enable the health system to unify disparate data sources and develop detailed profiles with direct engagement from providers on their clinical areas of focus. As a key component of this, Kyruus empowers health systems with a proprietary, physician-curated clinical taxonomy containing over 20,000 terms. In addition to specialties, procedures, and conditions, the library includes lay synonyms to enable patient-provider matching based on consumer-friendly search terms.
“Our patient access initiative is focused on offering patients an integrated digital experience that begins when they first research healthcare options and extends beyond when they receive care,” said Kevin O’Boyle, Vice President of Ambulatory Care at OHSU. “We recognize that having robust information about our providers is core to this effort.”
ProviderMatch APIs will power the consumer search and scheduling experience on OHSU’s website, harnessing data from KyruusOne. Patients will be able to search for providers using Kyruus’ keyword-based search and typeahead functionality and then navigate to the best matches for their needs using dynamic filters. A member of the Epic App Orchard, Kyruus will also enable OHSU to display real-time appointment availability and give consumers the ability to book directly online – key factors in consumer decisions about where, when, and from whom to obtain care.
“OHSU has shown a long-standing commitment to delivering top-notch care to patients across Oregon, including some of the most vulnerable patient populations,” said Graham Gardner, CEO of Kyruus. “We’re honored to serve as a partner to the OHSU team as they build on this commitment with a new online experience to help expand and improve patient access to their providers and care sites.”
