Spiracur Announces Renewal Contract with Novation for Advanced, Mechanically-Powered, Disposable Negative Pressure Wound Care Products
SUNNYVALE, Calif., August 7, 2014 – Spiracur, the developer of the only mechanically powered advanced wound care solution that delivers the proven efficacy of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT), today announced it has been awarded a three-year contract renewal with Novation, LLC, one of the healthcare industry’s leading group purchasing organizations. Spiracur will continue to supply the SNaP® Wound Care System, the ciSNaP® Closed Incision System and new dressing kits to Novation members including VHA Inc., UHC and Provista, LLC.
“We are very pleased to continue our successful partnership with Novation,” said Chris Fashek, president and chief executive officer for Spiracur. “Spiracur is committed to helping GPOs provide their members with effective solutions to enhance patient care, realize efficiencies and reduce expenses through clinically proven, innovative wound care products that are now reimbursed in the affiliated hospital outpatient wound clinics.”
Spiracur is credited with creating a new category of chronic and acute wound management solutions that combine the benefits of advanced wound care with non-powered NPWT. The SNaP® (Smart Negative Pressure®) System provides patients with a sophisticated, non-invasive and disposable NPWT system designed to promote wound healing, which weighs only 2.2 ounces and does not require batteries or electricity. The SNaP System is reimbursed in hospital outpatient wound care clinics and physician offices.
“Our continued partnership with Novation allows Spiracur the opportunity to access an extremely large group of members that make up not-for-profit hospitals, non-acute healthcare organizations and non-profit academic institutions throughout the U.S., to provide their customers with the latest clinical advancements in wound therapy, as well as future advancements for a broader patient population,” said Dane Shackleford, vice president, global sales and marketing for Spiracur.
